Affected Dream?

Personally my “American Dream” is not very materialistically based. So while today’s technology and economy may play a part in my goals, they aren’t significant. They do not delay or stagnate my plans in any way. It can be argued that they can obstacles in my life, problems that I must ultimately overcome and resolve. However, although it is impossible to avoid the inevitable, I choose not to look at the obstacles ahead of me as problems to face but simply as new and different ways that I can use to help me achieve my dream.
It is because my dream is to help the world be more humane, compassionate and understanding that a bad economy shouldn’t slow me down but instead give me another reason to be more motivated to help the human race progress which in return would end the recession and get society moving forward. As far as technology goes I use it yes, and it may be a major factor in my life but only to help serve my purpose. By using a wider variety of ways to reach my goals my chances of achieving them increase. Technology would just be another one of those ways that I can use to my advantage and not let it use me.
My determination and will power push me and drive me to make my dream a reality no matter what. And it’s because of my faith in God and the belief that his wisdom is more valuable than any materialistic object that I won’t be corrupted by anything standing in my way. To me it doesn’t matter that statistics show my life will be more challenging or that I may be overwhelmed with debt and consumerism. To me that just means that the pay off will be that much more sweeter. I honestly don’t know how my life will play out so I can’t say I know how problems in society today or the problems of tomorrow will affect me. What I can say though is that I know they won’t have a negative impact on me. The road to my “Dream Life” is a long and windy one with the trip itself being a life changing journey. My dream might change as far as how I manage to achieve it, but nothing in this world can stop me from achieving it.
