While it is in all fairness, right to be able to revoke an acceptence letter due to the short comings of a student's grades, it is not fair to do so unless they have irresputable evidence that the student in question failed to meet the predetermined requirements due to lack of effort or discipline. If unforseen events occurred that prevented the student from being able to complete their work despite their best efforts then it is unjust to deny them something as valuable and useful as education. We must also look at the situation from the point of view of the student. Highschool is the turning point for most students, where maturity and responsibilty begin to play a major role in there lives. Dealing with the new found responsibilty typically results in stress for the students as well as anxiety or pressure of upcoming events in their life. On top of that most seniors are trying to get their driving liscense as well as finding a part time job. Participating in all of these activities while juggling schoolwork and the pressure to exceed in all of them is greatly overwhelming for a young adult coming of age. If we take into consideration all of this information we can easily see and or remember exactly just how hard it is to be a senior in highschool.
However, if the college in question judges each student's case individually based on his or hers specific situation and gives them a fair trial then it is solely the responsibilty of the student to take care of their future for themselves. There are plenty of young adults who fail to meet college requirements because of procrastination or laziness. Some even give up on trying entirely, these individuals bear no resemblence to the students who actually strive for a better future. They should not influence in any way shape or form the decisions made against any other seniors.
